Clear checklist when item status changes

You can use automations to clear checklists when a status of an item changes. This can be useful in cases when you’d like to clear a checklist if a monday item is marked as “Done”. 

  1. Access the custom automations
    1. Click on the “Automate” button located on the upper right of your workspace

    2. Click on the "Create Custom Automation"

  2. Choose a trigger
    1. Select “status changes” for the “When this happens” trigger

Note: The “When status changes to something” trigger will be added.

  1. Select a condition
    1. Select the “Status” column from the list

    2. Select the “Done” status from the list for “something”

  2. Pick an action
    1. Start typing “clear” for “Then do this”. The Smart Checklist app should appear in the list. Select it.

  3. Add the automation to your board
    1. Click “Create Automation” button

You’re done. The automation will be turned on by default. Now the checklists will be cleared every time the status of an item changes to “Done”.
